The Forum

Gastronauts Asia is pleased to present Women in Gastronomy (WIG), a new global food forum at The Sukhothai Bangkok to promote and empower women in food, beverage and hospitality. This one-of-a-kind culinary gathering falls on International Women’s Day 2018 and will bring together a dynamic group of the world’s leading female chefs from Thailand and beyond for a full-day conference featuring chef talks, presentations, panel discussions and – over a long-format 12-course luncheon – plenty of eating.

  

All the participating chefs have had their respective restaurants recognised globally, with several holding coveted Michelin-stars or been included in prestigious local or worldwide rankings. Already confirmed to appear are Ana Ros from Hisa Franko, Slovenia, who currently holds the title of ‘World’s Best Female Chef’; Cristina Bowerman from the Michelin-starred Glass Hosteria in Rome, Italy; and Martina Caruso from the Michelin-starred Hotel Signum on Salina Island, Italy. Among Bangkok’s best appearing are Nooror Somany-Steppe from Blue Elephant, Duangporn ‘Bo’ Songvisava from Bo.lan, Garima Arora from Gaa, Phatchara ‘Pom’ Pirapak from Saneh Jaan, Saki Hoshino from 80/20, Chudaree ‘Tam’ Debhakam

of Top Chef Thailand and Jutamas ‘Som’ Theantae from Karmakamet Diner.
